I think there should be an option to send someone a gift weather its shards, items, or CC. I have wanted to send someone shards on multiple occasions and was unable to since the trading system forces you to send an item for currency or vice versa. It's not a big change but maybe it could be added in the next update just for ease of use.

theres no need for this as the reason that u need to put a item in the trade for it to work is a because of a fixable bug

While the system is currently bugged like yuno mentioned, I actually really like this idea. It's been brought up before, but item gifting and offline trading by steamid are two very welcome changes imo.

Offline trading, which should be a thing Eventually™, pretty much solves that. I don't think a separate system is required.
